Frequently Asked Questions

What is a paper bead?

A paper bead is a bead that is made out of any kind of paper, then cut, rolled, glued, and glazed three times for hardness and shine. I’ve used colored paper, wrapping paper, calendars, and pamphlets to make beads.

Is the paper bead fragile?

No. The glazing process makes the bead hard.

What do you mean by “custom” bracelets?

Many things make the bracelets custom. You can request a bracelet be certain colors or provide me with paper to make the beads with. I’ve made beads out of sheet music, wedding invitations, pictures, and even a sermon my father wrote (see custom examples). An old love letter or your child’s art work would make great beads for a bracelet. And all beads are handmade so even though bracelets can be made similar, they are all unique.

What other beads do you use in the bracelets?

I use a variety of coordinating beads to make a beautiful bracelet. I also email you a picture of your bracelets before sending them.

How long does it take to make a custom order?

Usually two weeks or less, but if I have a lot of orders at once, it could take longer. So far, I’ve been able to make all orders in under two weeks.

How many bracelets are in a set?

Four paper bead bracelets and two accessory bracelets make up a set.

Can I order/buy just one bracelet?

Yes. I can make any number of paper bead bracelets you want.

What size are the bracelets?

I can make any size custom bracelet you’d like. Most pre-made bracelets are size 7 ½ (average), but some are size 8.

Can I get my bracelets wet?

Although wearing the bracelets in the rain will not ruin them, you should not try to get them wet or submerge them in water. My mother and sister wear their bracelets every day with no water issues.

Will elastic bracelets last?

Elastic bracelets will last for a long time if the maker closes them properly. I crimp the ends and use E6000 Jewelry and Bead Adhesive.

Why do you use elastic to make the bracelets?

I hate the time to takes to put on my bracelets with clasps. I don’t have a lot of time in the morning and can put on my elastic bracelets in seconds. I know some crafters think it’s a sin to use elastic, but I prefer them and so do my customers!

What is an accessory bracelet?

It’s a bead bracelet that coordinates with your set, but does not include any paper beads.

Do I get an accessory bracelet when I buy one paper bead bracelet?

No. I include one accessory bracelet when you buy three paper bead bracelets and two accessory bracelets when you buy a set.

Can you match my wedding colors?

Yes. I can use the same color paper to make the beads or even use a wedding invitation to make them. These bracelets make a unique and personal bridesmaid gift!

What sports team paper bead bracelets can you make?

I can make bracelets for all NFL and MLB teams, and most Division I football teams. Depending on the team, I can make bracelets for NBA, NHL, and other sports. And I guarantee team color accuracy.
